hello Wilma, i just saw your question on here even though it was posted a while ago. Unfortunately i am unable to help, the reason for contact is i am in similar position in England and i am curious as wether you have had to part part of your house, would be delighted if you could spare a min to reply, even if unresolved, thanks Angela

Scottland I hear is a beautiful place. I hope one day to visit the country. I am not familier with Scottland laws. Is his name on the deed to the property as well, or just yours?
Now, in some countries he wouldn't have any claim. He chose to upgrade what is not titled to him of his own free will and during the period of the marriage has had access too enjoy the upgrades he made, therefore the upgrades become part of the permanent structure as if it was there all along.
