Is this true about child support in Florida?

I live in Florida, and my mom has been saving up all my Child Support Checks and put them in an account. I heard that once you're 18 the money unused by the parent, gets handed down to the child? Is this true?

This is one of those Chinese Whispers that gets distorted each time someone repeats the story. The best way to find out the actuall facts is by calling the Child Support Unit and asking them what the ruling is.
