I thought it was simple solution but I was surprised at the creative math everyone used. It is still not resolved. Danni6. Cathy7. ChristieThe question is how should the total cost be divided out and who should still pay and who should be reimbursed what amount(s)? Could you help on this? well it comes out to $2331.45 (rounded up) - So kim should get back 10,514.43 and Mary should get $1,142.69 and that solves it really pretty simple math. But I agree with the comment before. Celebrate the life of mom!

reader, anonymous, writes (20 December 2006): Each should pay $2,400 into a pot. Cover the cost of the funeral and the left over money should be put towards a slap up meal. Don't bicker over the cost of stuff. The people who have paid so much should be reimbursed and draw a line under the whole thing.
